Rep. Benson Kicks Off Construction Of 150 – Capacity ICT Hub

Ikorodu is gradually turning into a major hub for Information and Communication Technology (ICT) with different innovative platforms being established. The latest being the fourth center facilitated by Rep. Babajimi Benson, the representative of the Ikorodu Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.

Benson, who is the Chairman, House Committee on Defense, had previously facilitated three ICT centres – an ICT centere at Oga/Methodist Primary Schools, Ikorodu, a Digital Economy Training Centre at  the Methodist Primary School, Igbogbo, Igbogbogbo/Bayeku LCDA and a Digital Economy and E – learning Centre at the Anglican Primary School, Isawo in Ikorodu West Local Council Development Area (LCDA), to give the pupils in his constituency good beginning in computer studies.

The ICT hub, an advanced facility which is located within the Ikorodu Town Hall, Ikorodu, will have two halls with 75 capacities each (a total of 150 capacity).

According to a reliable source within Rep. Benson’s working team – iCare Foundation, the facility will be well equipped with an internet facility, toilets and water system.

The project is being handled by Regal Consult Limited, while Engr. Gbemmy is the site engineer.

When our reporter visited the site of the construction on Monday, construction workers were seen digging the ground for the foundation.

When completed, the facility would be a good addition to the Ikorodu Division Resource Group’s (IDRDG) ICT/CBT Centre at the Ikorodu Town Hall, which currently hosting the ongoing JAMB examinations.
